As you look at witnessing, you see the opportunity to share your God stories.
Ever hear the comment, “There are two things you should never talk about, politics and religion.” Then, people talk about politics all the time!
Why are you adverse to talking about your religion? It may be because your religion is the political side of Christianity. Let’s get this straight and understand: religion is all about the forms of Christianity:
- Catholic or Protestant?
- Old hymnal or new?
- Old English or modern?
- Cathedral style building or modern style?
- Pews or chairs?
- Formal worship or informal?
— All of this stuff is religion.
— It is just the packaging.
— It is all about the methods, and they change all the time.
Remember this about Christianity: methods are many, principles are few. Methods always change, principles never do.
People get all bent out of shape about the packaging and tend to miss the content. The content is what is important. The content is Jesus Christ. The style, the church: that’s just packaging.
When you share your God stories, focus on the content.
Someone once said, “The church is like manure. Pile it up, and it stinks up the neighborhood; spread it around, and it enriches others.”
So, if you are a Christian, it is your destiny to share your God stories. You don’t have to be a preacher, unless God calls you to be. But you are a witness, an eyewitness, of what God has done in your life.
- Share what God has done in your life: enrich those in your social network.
- Your relationships are fertile ground!
